The 2016 CMS Final Rule made Emergency Planning a regulatory requirement for all Medicare-certified Home Health & Hospice providers.  Since then emergency planning has been a focus during state federal and accrediting surveys resulting in various citations. This presentation will highlight the importance of developing plans, processes and relationships for Home Health and Hospice Emergency planning with the goal of enhancing all-hazards public health and medical preparedness, response, and recovery activities related to meeting the unique needs of Home Health and Hospice patients.
